Getting started

Who this is for, and how the first few weeks work.

Meet & Greet

You'll meet your group of friend matches in person. Think of it as a vibe check. If the group isn't right, you can ask for a rematch or opt out within 48 hours (we'll remind you!). No pressure to stay somewhere you don't click.

Your membership starts with 6 more weekly experiences

Your group meets weekly for six more curated experiences (totalling seven with this group, including the M&G), always on the same day and time as your Meet & Greet. Attend a Tuesday 6:30pm M&G, and Tuesdays at 6:30pm is your standing slot. Each week you're also paired 1:1 with someone from your group for a coffee, a walk, whatever you two decide, until you've met everyone one-on-one.

Plus a full year in the community

Your membership includes twelve months of access to everything beyond your group: member events, 1:1 matches with women across the wider community, IRL social clubs in select cities, and a members-only forum.

RealRoots is made for all women, cis and trans, over 21. Our queer groups also welcome nonbinary folks.

We keep everyone from the same Meet & Greet group together, but depending on enrollments you might also get a couple of new faces. Either way, we guarantee you'll be matched with a group thoughtfully selected for you based on similarities in your age, proximity, and other lifestyle choices.

Your weekly experiences

What you'll actually be doing together each week.

It varies, but past experiences include scavenger hunts, game nights, bowling, and evenings built around sharing life stories. Every experience also comes with a conversation menu: a set of deeper, more meaningful prompts your guide facilitates so you're actually getting to know each other, not just sharing space.

What's covered

RealRoots covers something every week, usually the activity itself or appetizers. Your reminder text will tell you exactly what's covered before you go.

What's not

Meals are self-pay. Budget for your own food on nights when the activity is the covered item.

Gal dates are 1:1 pairings we send you each week during your RealRoots series, meant to help you get to know each member of the group on a deeper level. One person in each pairing is assigned S for scheduler, which means she's in charge of reaching out to schedule that week's 1:1 with her match. If a group has an odd number of members, we'll randomly assign a different person to skip each week.

No problem at all. Missing one or two is completely normal, and we've priced the program with that in mind. We find that participants who attend at least 5 of the 7 experiences have amazing outcomes and are able to create meaningful friendships. Unfortunately, we aren't able to provide refunds for absences at experiences.

Series experiences are designed to build on each other. Committing to the full series means you, and everyone else in your group, will see each other 5+ more times, which is what helps real friendships grow. Because of this, we're not able to offer individual experiences as standalone purchases.

Money & billing

Pricing, enrollment, payment plans, and how to cancel.

Here's what's included: seven gatherings with your group over seven weeks, a weekly 1:1 gal date until you've met everyone one-on-one, a guide at every experience, something covered by RealRoots each week, and a full year of access to member events, IRL clubs, community 1:1 matches, and the members-only forum. The fee translates to only $6/week over a year. Your fee pays our guides, who are the reason these experiences work, and covers the weekly event costs. Comparable facilitated programs run several times higher.

And if you don't make friends, we keep working with you for free.

After a Meet & Greet, you'll be automatically opted into membership within 48 hours unless you opt out from inside the app (we'll remind you!). This includes a full year of RealRoots membership, starting with 6 more weekly experiences with your group of friend matches, all for $289. As a courtesy to the group, opt-outs aren't available until after the event, so that everyone who shows up knows the rest are serious about making connections. If you were charged because you forgot to opt out, we're happy to offer refunds.

We're happy to reschedule you to a future Meet & Greet date at no cost. Meet & Greet tickets themselves are nonrefundable.

If you believe your membership is no longer a fit before the third meeting of your series, we'll be happy to offer either a free rematch to another group within 6 months, or a refund on your membership fee minus a $100 cancellation fee. The fee covers our costs for matching, staffing the guide, and organizing the series for your group. After the third meeting of the series, we're still able to move you to another group within 6 months, but we're no longer able to offer a refund.

Open the RealRoots app and tap Community on the bottom navigation bar, then see all benefits at the bottom of the screen.
You'll see all of your membership benefits here, including any upcoming events you've signed up for. To cancel a specific club sign-up, select the event and cancel from there.
In the members portal, tap Account to update your payment method, update billing information, or cancel your membership entirely.

After a Meet & Greet, opt out of the membership auto-enrollment within 48 hours of the M&G. You'll then see the option to pay for the membership outright, and at checkout you'll see the option to pay with a payment plan.

To redeem a gift card, simply enter the gift card number into the promo code box at checkout.

Membership & clubs

What your membership unlocks beyond your own group.

We guarantee that you will make at least one meaningful connection that you're excited to see after the program, or else we'll rematch you to another series for free. This offer is good for up to 6 months after the conclusion of your series group, and for up to 2 free rematches.

Your RealRoots membership includes a year of access to IRL clubs with the larger community, 1:1 matches, a community forum, and discounts on future series. Check out your member benefits throughout the series and beyond.

We offer IRL clubs in select cities, including dinner club, walk club, and book club. Every club meeting is led by a RealRoots guide, and food and drink are self-pay. Club offerings may vary by city, so please reach out to info@therealroots.com with any questions.

Yes, you can join the RealRoots membership for only $49/quarter, which unlocks access to IRL clubs, 1:1 matches, a forum, and more.

You're welcome to invite a friend to join you for any Meet & Greet by adding them as a plus one in your app. To attend further membership experiences, they'll need to join as a member.
